Hiya, im really sorry to here of the trouble your having. I had something similiar to this last year when i went into a shoe shop to pay for some shoes (obviously). The shop turned me the transaction had been declined. I paid by cash. When i phoned up the bank they told me the amount had been earmarked to be taken.

Apparantly this means that they mark this amount in your account to say you have spent it and when the trasaction comes in from the shop they put them together and take the money from your account.

I explained what had happened. The bank (halifax) told me that they amount would only be earmarked for 10 days. If the shoes shop hadnt claimed this by then the amount would once again be free to spend from my bank account by myself.

This sounds really confusing but after 10 days it was showing as being back in my bank account. Halifax couldnt give me any explanation as to why this had happened neither could the shoe shop.

I hope this helps

karen

I have had a similar issue with NatWest. They debited the amount to be paid to my credit card but never paid. Never informed me. Neither my bnk nor the credit card informed me. MOney stayed in their 'pending' account and credit card guys defaulted and passed teh account to DCA. I am gonna chase all of them for it!

I am going to make a strog written complaint to the bank on monday. I am gonna quantify the hassle and stress the whole incident has caused. If the bank has mucked up, they have to pay back not only the 'disappeared' money but also some goodwill amount!

hi,
i have proble with ''3'' as well.

Since Christmas I cannot use my phone properly because on display ''error in connection'' pops up. I called customer service thousands times, they took my phone to fix 2 times and now the same problem. I cannot make a phone calls and nobody can call me. They do not want to give me a new handset and do not let me cancel the contract.

I do not know what to do.

Well, 3 are the worst mobile operator in my experience. They extend your contract before you know it and when you call back 2-3 mnths down the line they say you should have cancelled as it's self-renewable contract.

I hv read somewhere in the forum that mobile contracts do not come under CC Act 74, so I dn't know what actually we can do with them. Or, for that matter broadband and sky provider??
