Craphone Warehouse on BBC Carphone Warehouse was on tv this morning, the 'Don't Get Mad, Get Dom' programme. Usual story, sold an upgrade over the phone, neglected to mention it would cost almost double the original contract price, blah blah blah.
Thing is, they sold this to a Vicar, a loyal customer for 11/12 years, they texted him the new contract price a few days after the phone was sent out, he tried to cancel straight away and was refused. Various threats ensued, court action etc.
Even with the presenter ringing up saying he was from the BBC, they gave him the runaround. He phoned, they wouldn't give a manager's name, told him to call back in 10 minutes, which he did and they wouldn't answer, twice. He witheld his number, called again and they answered.
Funny, that happened to me as well. I suspect (as did the presenter) that they took a note of the number and deliberatly didn't answer.
They eventually succumbed, being on TV and and all, but he had a lot of trouble getting this result.
If that's the way they act on TV, what hope is there for the rest of us? |
