Default Bizarre Virgin responses

My first post but been visiting a while. Sent my Subject Access Request to VM in February '07 as per templates/inc. £10 fee. Got a response a few days before end of 40 day period saying they could not process it as there was no cheque inc.

Now, I am happy I did include it as I wrote letters to LTSB and Argos on the same day. I felt quite powerless and viewed it as a crude delaying tactic, so sent another Subject Access Request June 3 '07.

To my surprise I got a letter last week from my bank HQ with the June 3 cheque and a letter from VM explaining to the bank they had this cheque kicking around the office and didn't know who it was so they were sending it back, out the goodness of their heart.

This has left me flabagasted as I even took jokey photos of the letter and cheque prior to posting, but never thought the same could happen again.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? What do I do now, these letters were sent by recorded delivery and signed for? I sent them to 160 Great Portland St, W1W 5QA.

You couldn't make it up, please can someone advise on how I should proceed. I think they just hope I'll go away. Any help much-appreciated, thanks.

This is odd, spoke to the missus and everything turned up today. So they somehow managed to separate cheque and letter, but still processed the request. Weird! Anyway, looks like incompetence rather than a delay tactic on their part. Thanks for all the err, views...
