Default Urgent HELP!!!

Hi

I'm a bit angry at the moment and I need to blow off steam and get some advice off you.

I'll try and keep this as short as possible.

I have just finished college and my bursary was reduced on the last month due to my attendance falling below their 80% benchmark in that month. The college have a system in place whereby if your attendance falls below 80% in a four week reporting period they will reduce your support and subsequently stop it.

I have been arguing back and forth with the college as their last reporting period was less than 4 weeks, it was less than 3 weeks! This obviously reduces the time allocated for attendance. They also claim that backdated medical certificates are not accepted, which is ridiculous as I can't ask my doctor for an early appointment as I'm a student, I'd be laughed at.

The problem is I have a copy of the Terms and Conditions of the bursary and it says it is a four week period each month. It also has no mention of backdated medical certificates not being accepted. I have sent them a copy of this along with my complaint letter and they have ignored this issue altogether. I feel like I'm hitting a brick wall now.

Does anyone know whether or not I can take legal action against them with the information I have and if it will be costly?

If you need to know anything more, please ask away.

Thanks

After waiting so long, due to their summer break, I have been given the full amount back. I think they realised they had actually broken their own terms and conditions lol
