A lot of students are paying back more than they borrowed. This government changed the rules 10 years ago and now it is up to the student to tell the loan company when they have repaid their loan and not the other way around.
Consequently a lot of students are continuing to have payments deducted from their paypackets even when the loan is complete.
A degree of uncertainty on student loan repayments - Telegraph
It's just another of this governments inept policies where they rip the worker off.
Now they have been given a slap in the face in the local elections, and a heafty kick up the backside by the London mayoral elections, they say they 'will' listen to the people. They have been saying that since they have been in power and to still say 'will' means they were telling lies in the past and have not listened, so why should we believe that they will change in any way.
Check how much your loan was for and get a statement of the payments you have made to ensure you are not continuing to pay for something that has already been paid back.
Going by the number of post in this forum by students being chased when they default on payments, it is completely unfair that they are chased for not paying back and yet not told when they have completed the payments.
