Help on dissertation research

Hi

I am currently undertaking a project which involves researching into the role of bank branches. Could anyone please help me with getting the information I need from the major banks? Anything else like getting addresses/email addresses/telephones nos, etc will help as I can get my research done through questionnaires?

Do any of your tutors know anyone in the industry? Are you or your family / friends on good terms with bank staff (deputy manager upwards)? Worth finding out. I am having a similar problem for my dissertation, but have found someone who knows someone in the particular industry concerned and have got an interview.

Its not what you know, it's who you know. Unfortunate but true.

Otherwise, go onto bank websites and look at corporate section (most have one) and try the marketing / press office / communications department

I have got 2/3 interviews through friends and family's contacts with bank managers which is great. I think i will have to contact the other banks through their websites. I noticed the other day that this website has details of registered offices of the banks. Do you think sending questionnaires out to these addresses is worth a try?

I believe that registered offices may be just a small office that does not carry out functions of the bank - merely administration. I think it would be best to use the "contact us" part - either the switchboard or press dept. and ask for where the best place is to send it.
