Right, got my statement today - GE money took over from Creation financial services in Sept 2004, so I can only claim from GE after that date.

It's only £63, but hey, it's better in my pocket isn't it?

So I've sent my preliminary approach for repayment today. Can't see there being much of a problem with this one, it's such a small amount.

You say took over from. In what way? If they bought the business then you can still claim for the whole amount as a purchasing company also purchases the liabilities. If they took the debt over then you can claim from Creation (if they still exist) for the rest of it.

sorry to hijack this thread, but thought it might be interesting for Chipsandsausage too. I too have had a letter from Creation FInancial Services saying that they can only give me details back to August 2004 and for anything before that would have to write to Ikano Financial Services re the Allders card. I really don't want to be having to do two Data Protection Act letters - would I be right in writing back to them saying that it doesn't matter who ran the card before Aug 2004, and that they should be able to provide the info? - Not sure why they (creation Financial services) took over the admin of Allders store cards from Ikano (in fact wasn't even aware they had until I got this letter!)

If we do have to write to Ikano, Creation FInancial Services have provided the address for them below:

Ikano FInancial Services Ltd
Adam House
Players Court
Player Street
Nottingham
NG7 5LN

But I have a funny feeling that they will write back and say that Creation have taken over the account and to get the info from them!

Chipsandsausage - have you taken this any further so far?

Well, to be honest, I have written a Data Protection Act request to Creation, but haven't posted it yet. I don't have my account details - and have written it with my name and address details hoping they would be able to track it from there.

The account number changed when GE money took over the card.

I seem to be doing the work for everyone lately, and I'm losing all heart!!

Since retrieving my charges from Halifax, I've had my brother coming round / phoning me asking me to do all his letters for him, although he got himself in a right state. Left a bank account dormant for MONTHS with an overdraft of £700 (£200 over the limit) an then decided to go after them for refund! I'm having to deal with his solicitors letters and everything now.

Then my husband decides to "write" to the Nat West - although I am doing all the writing and sums....

Then mum comes in wanting to reclaim HER charges.... guess who's doing all the leg work????

I feel a bit bogged down, don't know where I'm up to with it all.

Rant over.

I will post the Data Protection Act to Creation, but it's all DOING MY HEAD IN NOW!!

Thanks for your support guys. x
