| | Platinum Account Customer | I got my money back from GE Money before prelim!!! Yes this just confirmed today by GE Money and is coming in writing.
The story how this happened....right I requested my S.A.R and the deadline was 17th Jan. Rang and spoke direct to DPC to ask what was happening and to remind them of the deadline. Ok a Denise promised to ring me back the next day to allow her to investigate. She did and and I received my mothercare statements and charge transactions, which I found confusing to say the least and told them this. No top shop account statements either, even though this was always paid by Direct Debit so I remember there was only a couple of times this was not paid back in 2003 when I closed it. Still I had requested these.
Anyhow a Joanne rang friday promising to ring concerning these issues on monday. I missed the call I had already totted up the mothercare charges £120 and beleive top shop to be £30 more so £150. Well I missed the call and she rang back today. They offered because of this muck up to clear my mothercare account of £266 and balance down to zero and advised I had every right to reject and make a formal complaint concerning Top Shop.
Well I accepted cos I have been give approx £116 more so all in all VERY HAPPY and never really did athing

I am going through all my cc/sc creditors now ,trying to decide which to tackle next.
Think it will be GE Money ! Various accounts held with them over the years and they have just sold all my debts to CL FINANCE.
Going to crack on with Subject Access Request and CCA letters now.
I could do with an easy one lol!!!
Hope xx |

Send them a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) ( 1. Data Protection Act, Subject Access Request letter - List of charges) to get all your statements if you haven'e kept them.
Once you have your statements you can then list all the unlawful charges they have made on your account and the interest they charged on top.
You should start your own thread on the 'store cards' forum so that we can help you along, encourage you and offer congratulations when you win.

I think Creation are a different company than GE Capital. Different stores use different providers and they can move them around. Creation have a DUET card. They used to do the cards for the Sears Group of companies. Some of those companies were sold on and changed to their new owners partner usually GE. Creation still provide cards for some companies - this link should give an idea of who they provide cards for. Creation Financial Services Limited - A unique range of skills |

| | Classic Account Customer | Re: I got my money back from GE Money before prelim!!! Hi there, I sent an Subject Access Request to GE Money some time ago for two store card accounts, I recently had to send them a letter of non-compliance as they never sent my statements. Anyway today I received a letter from Mark Metcalfe of GE Money offering a full refund of the charges applied to the two accounts, and that I will receive this amount shortly. Firstly, I have never received my statements or even a schedule of the charges, so how do I know if the amounts are correct. And secondly I had these cards some time ago and have since closed the accounts and cut up the cards as any owing amounts were paid off, so I don't know whether they're going to send me a cheque or refund onto these old accounts. So what I want to know is has anyone got a direct number I could phone, as there isn't a telephone number on the letter they sent me, even though Mr Metcalfe told me in the letter to ring if I have any queries!!! Thanks x
