getting a job

I'm looking to find a bit of part time work to go around university hours, I went along to the job centre and they were busy but the guy at the centre said that they can't help me much because i'm at uni and not on one of the benefits on their list so getting employment for me isn't a priority. I'm not sure what this guys actual job is but i intend to keep looking but was wondering if there's any particular sort of person I should approach to find help? I can't take some jobs because i've got a pacemaker fitted and have black outs, I'm also dyslexic but not that you'd notice. I always thought there were people who helped disabled people get work but i can't seem to find any help right now.

I have the same problem (Not at Uni though).
I was diagnosed with HaVS in 2005 which resulted in losing my job in july 2007,(aircraft repair specialist).
I went to the job centre asking what was available to me and was told they could not do anything for me (I have little upper-body strength as my illness has taken this away).
I am unable to work outdoors/in the cold, as the illness has affected this also.
Currently, I am looking for a trade/job that takes all this into consideration but I am always drawing a blank.

Hi Alex, I've found a company called remploy who help disabled people into work. The catch is that they have to assess you as being disabled and you can't be in education.

I am indeed Davjoh, I think the big problem is that I'm a full time student so no one seems up for taking me on when there are non-students who need an advisor more than me. I'll call the job centre tomorrow and ask about a new deal advisor tomorrow.
