Default Voluntary Termination - Service History ?

    Hi.

I am considering voluntary termination of my car finance with GMAC.

    The documentation states that:

"The vehicle should always be serviced in accordance with the manufacturers maintenance shedule and a record of the service history should be retained as described in the terms and conditionsicon of your agreement".

I have serviced my vehicle regulary myself, however I have no proof of this.

What effects will this have ?

    Thanks.

    It also states :

" If you are returning your vehicle to Vauxall finance, the process is simple and straight forward. The vehicle must have been appropriately maintained with a service record, and be in appropriate condition ( which means subject only to fair wear and tear )".

Does this mean I cannot return the vehicle as I have no record of service history ?

    Thanks.

you should be able to return the vehicle but maybe at a little price. i guess the only reason they ask for the service history is for when they sell it on and get rid of the car once you have handed it over.
If you can provide receipts of what you have bought to service the car then that might be enough.

Not 100%, but i'm fairly sure they can't enforce this, and the car just has to be in reasonable condition for it's age. Finance companies tend to add their own terms but I doubt they can enforce it. The last finance we had said the same, yet the car didnt even have service history when we bought it!
