Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have had a problem with a repair carried out on my vehicle. A dealer service centre replaced a differential seal, which subsequently leaked, which was then changed again under a warranty claim, the seal has now leaked again losing all the oil from the differential and damaging the differential. Repair quote £1000 pounds (with a goodwill gesture of free labour!)
The last repair was done 7 months ago. They are saying nothing to do with them. I'm saying was fine prior to them repairing it, no noise reported on the road tests (2) or evidence of leaks. the vehicle is covered in oil underneath. I think that a bad repair by them has lost the oil and damaged the diff.
Any ideas on a way forward?? Contacts for a trade body, motor trade association, legal advice route?? Trading standads issue?
Re: Garage Service Complaint Advice ...... Help !*@?
find out the parts warranty procedure, the manufacturer i work for offers 12 months unlimited mileage cover on all work we carry out so if it is the same part that has failed again you should be covered.
I am not sure if this is the case from all manufacturers but find out,
(so long as it was a main dealer who fitted the part)
if the seal is still covered under the warranty then the subsequant damage should also be covered,
ring the customer relations dept and hound them till they pay up,
complain like mad to the dealer principle or owner of the garage
Re: Garage Service Complaint Advice ...... Help !*@?
3 weeks ago a garage did some work on my 2004 BMW 330 deisel sport and I noticed that one of the mechanics had a car similar but older to mine. Today I was horrified to see that the emblem badges in the centre of my alloys have been prised out with a screwdriver (?) thus damaging the alloys and replaced with grotty very badly faded badges which had been glued on with something like evostick. I'm 100% sure it was the garage as car had been collected from accident repair the previous day and one of the alloys had been replaced and was brand new! Accident not my fault incidentally!!After inspecting newly repaired car I didn't really look again until today when I cleaned the wheels, I had thought the badges were very dirty from motorway but they've been switched. Car is garaged when not in use and a random thief wouldn't have the time or inclination to replace the badges. Please advise me what can I do? from a Lady Driver
