Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have just recieved a letter and first offer from the Halifax offering £2014.00 in full settlement of my claim of £4500.00 in bank charges.
Could anyone tell me what I do from here as I have used all the bank Templates 1-6. do I contact them by phone declining this offer or do I go to the county court?
I would like some help and advise with this because if I dont contact them in the next 10 days they will automatically transfer this offer into my account as the Full and final settlement.
You can find a reject offer letter here some place, have you filed a claim with a court? it is roughly 10% less and given you would have to file a claim and pay the costs upfront and wait months but, it's your call!

Any help or advice is offered as just that, help and advice without any liability. If in doubt consult a legal expert or CAB.
I wouldn't dream of adding anything to SSL's reply - other than to say, that there have been folks who have accepted the first offer as PARTIAL REPAYMENT on the understanding that they are STILL going to Court.
Apparently that shows them that you really mean business!
