Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
The first letter requesting a refund of £1212 was refused point blank.
I then sent the lba and received a response today denying that the charges were unlawful but out of goodwill (ha ha!) they will refund £167 of charges in Full and final settlement of my complaint.
I obviously have no intention of accepting this as full and final settlement, however I'm not sure whether to decline the offer and enter the full amount on the small claims site, or accept the offer as a partial refund and only claim for the remaining £1045 plus interest. Any help would be very much appreciated??
Funny enough, they threatened to close my account if I didn't manage my account correctly even though I shut it nearly 2 years ago.
im not sure if anybody else has been offered a refund after the lba, i got offered my refund from the preliminary letter, and said thank you ill take the £605 but if the money is not paid in full by the 19th june i will have no other option but to claim the full amount on my letter before action.
In my Letter before action i made references to my preliminary letter reminding them of what i stated in it.
hope someone else can help you
good luck
