    Default Settlement offer help please

Hi A&L have offered me £66 as a final settlement.
however my total charges are for £394!!

i wrote to them with the offer of payin £225 ish if they settle out of court (as per martin lewis recent note)

In their letter they state the £12 OFT bit etc but only refer this to failed payments not unauthorised overdrafticon charges etc.

So should i send a letter accepting as a part payment but unless they pay the rest within xxdays then i'll claim the rest through court?

    Any help gladly received!

I would not accept this amount. Use the rejection letter as in the library. They are just using bluff and scare tactics to drag things out as long as they possibly can or get you to settle for a much reduced amount. Do not let them keep your money ..........

    Good luck

If the tables were turned........ need I say more. Yes i do actually, they would have made you pay interest on it!!!!!
I recall reading on this website that OFT indicated that they would intervene in cases of c/card agreements where the charge was above £12.00. Didn't mention nufin 'bout no bank acounts dough.
If what they said was true, then this site would have closed long ago.
Mamma says Go get YOUR money. Use the rejection of offerletter in the template library just as thesergeant says.
