    Default Feater V Woolwich

I am at the stage of waiting for a reply to my lbaicon. Have about a week to go.

I owe around 200 on my account but have just had a letter from a debt collectionicon agency asking for 1216.82. In my letters to Woolwich I have asked that they remove any charges which were pending or charged after my first request for refunds.

Does anyone have a good letter that I can send to the debt collection agency as I think some of this amount is their fees and I'm not going to pay them as the Woolwich were aware the account was in dispute before they passed the debt onto them!

    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the "Bump".. but I got a phone callicon and letter from Woolwich so I'm going to get them to confirm to the collection agency that there is a dispute. Also spoke to the collections agency and they are now aware of the situation so all taken care of.

Waiting for a call back from Woolwich at 12 to give me an offer. I know what I'm willing to accept so am hoping that I won't have to submit my N1 form this week afterall.

Too optomistic by far! Offer was 500 quid less than I wanted and no mention of taking off the charges since I submitted my list of charges which is over a grand.. Oh well onto county courticon then

Yep, it was always going to be a long shot and look on the bright side, you'll be able to add a retrospective 8%!

Going stright to county courticon seems to be far quicker than MCOL now. Are you all set and happy with what you need to take with you?

Does anyone have an email address for anyone at Woolwich. I would like to mail them for more charges since my original request.

I'm afraid the only Woolwich email address I know and have used is CustomerCare@woolwich.co. uk
They are only the ground troops and tbh I wouldn't trust them to pass on anything you send to the correct department. You could always use them but you would have to send a registered letter with enclosures anyway to be absolutely sure it got the right attention.

Might give Piers another call and ask him for his direct mail address. Worth a go I suppose as I really want to get charges list from after 22nd May before I start CC Claim.. would annoy me to have to do another one after this!

    How's your claim going Welshcakes?

    HI feater,

You can go down to your local branch as I understand, and get an immediated printout if it's just for recenet months (another thread in last few days says they did this with Woolwich withoput any hassle at all).

Thanks for asking re my claims, my local county courticon seems to be pretty quick in getting cases to court.

Sooooo frigging angry. Got another letter from Debt collectors yesterday saying that they are going to arrange a doorstep collectionicon.. So I rang Piers at Woolwich and asked if he would confirm to them that the account is in disputeicon, as from what I understand they cannot chase a debt on an account which is in dispute..

He said he would check with debt collection dept and get back to me.. So he calls back and tells me that the account isn't in dispute so he won't be calling the debt collectors.....I'm obviously a bit shocked by this and told him that I'm disputing the amount owed as it is about 90% of unlawful charges. He said we made you a gogw which you refused as is your right but again the account isn't in dispute..you asked for your charges back and we said no.

So I ask him if I need to submit my CC Claim before it's considered a dispute and he said wouldn't make any difference......

Asked him what he would call it then if I'm "disputing" the amount is owed and they are still chasing it.. He didn't really answer that and just kept repeating that the account is fine and I still owe them money... Told him I'd go to the ombusbman and see if they considered it a dispute.. (Can I do that as well as starting my claim.. planning on starting it Friday?)

Got very frustrated and put the phone down on him before I turned the air blue! Very very annoyed.

Am I mad in thinking that if two sides don't agree then that's considered a dispute or am I not grasping the meaning here?

Haven't put in claim yet. Does the OFT test case include woolwich via Barclaysicon cos there's nothing on the woolwich website and they aren't listed on the OFT site...?

    Hi feater

Not sure why I haven't picked up on your last few posts, you must have felt abandoned!

The account is in disputeicon. I suggest writing to bith Barclaysicon Head Office and Woolwich Customer Service with identical letter stating catergorically that the account went into dispute on xx/xx/xx - this will be date you first contacted them about bank charges refund.

File your claim using the new POCicon.

Woolwich comes under Barclays as is therefore part of the OFT Test Case.

Thanks Welshcakes. The POCicon has t&C and I wasn't sure if these would be the same as the Woolwich ones from 1998 or not
