    Default overdraft fee changed to arrangement fee on automated letter




    hi

    i have been looking at my automated letters sent out to me with regards to charges being applied to my account in november it says under the description..overdrafticon fee but in december under the description it says...arrangement fee should i include these letters in my bundle highlighting the descriptions..

    have to get my bundle sent off soon so any help appreciated

    I think that HSBCicon changed their description of charges to arrangement fees in the hope that they can get away with charging a fee for a service rather that a penalty charge. I am not sure whether you need to put these in your bundle as the description should already be in your statements anyway.

    Unless you are claiming on a business account, just put down "total charges". It actually relates to a daily charge for going over an agreed overdrafticon limit or going into an overdraft where none is allowed. I think at the moment it is £25 per day.
