Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.

In January of this year we paid a deposit (25%) for our Safari in South Africa, using our RBS credit card. The Safari Lodge took the full amount 100% by mistake and within 3 days rufunded the over payment of 75%. However when we got the statement the original transaction had the exchange rate of 13.4 rand to the pound but the refund had an exchange rate of 14.2 rand to the pound basically meaning that we have been stiched to the tune of £57 quid.
We immediatly phoned RBS and got a bit of a run around but finally got someone to look at it. Now they have come back and said what they have done is perferctly fair and basiclly it's our tough luck!
Does anyone know if this is correct it seems that if I were in Paris I and bought two pairs of trousers and then took one back I would not get the full amount I paid as debit exchange rate is always higher than the credit rate. Example below
Two pairs trousers @ 72 Euro = 144 Euro = £100 Exchange rate 1.44 Euro to the pound
Return one pair of trousers 72 Euro = £47 Exchange rate = 1.53 Euro to the Pound
Which means that RBS(or any CC compnay) would be better of by £3. The merchant has not lost out as the transaction was in Euro. The only person to loose would be me(us) the consumer.
Hopefully there is someone out there who will be able to point me to some rule or some law and I can get my £57 BACK
