Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I made a claim online with A+L for the sum of £1187, they entered a defence. They then sent me a offer of £450 which I sent with a rejection letter 9 days ago, I have still heard nothing, any ideas as of what may happen!?
You may hear something eventually. I suspect they've got that many claims on the go, they're pretty busy Just continue with your claim for now. Have you actually had their defence papers, or just their notice to defend?

I have today received their defence papers, or so im assuming. However still no date mentioned as when im going to court or anything. Do I have to do anything as of now? It has been moved to my local Leicester Court just to add.

Hi im at roughly the same stage as yourself, i received defence papers from wragge and co on 6th june and have heard nothing since. From what ive read some people also receive a copy of A&L's defence from the court too! Did you get a letter to say your claim had been transfered to your local court?
Good luck anyway

Hi
The letter I have received is 'Notice of Transfer of Proceedings' just saying the claim has been filed. Then below this it states how the claim has been transfered to Leicester county court. However no date!? Also there is a line of text which says ' and note that the allocation questionnaire should be returned to the Leicester County Court ' however this has been crossed out!

Will wait and see.......
You will get a date, together with the judge's "directions" in due course ... it depends on how busy your local court is as to when you'll get it.
It sounds as if the AQ has been "dispensed with" ... this is pretty standard these days. If your claim is for over £1500 though, you may still have to pay the AQ fee even though you've not been asked to complete it. If you think this may be the case, give the court a ring. The fee is £100 and has to be paid within 14 days if it's required.

fortunately for me my claim is not over the £1500 mark so no more fees to pay!
