Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I am currently reclaiming charges from my MBNA card and have posted a similar question in that section but no one seems to know the answer.
MBNA have written explaining their charges and offered £660 straight away to mem saying 'they will send a cheque' saying this would be in settlement. (charges total £2000).
This cheque arrived in an envelope with a 'with compliments' slip. I had no option to refuse the cheque it was sent as a matter of course.
I am of course going to pursue for the full amount but what should I do with the cheque??
Keep it on file?
Bank it, send a letter thanking for part settlement and go for the rest??
Ignore it?
Send it back?
Any help from anyone who has had a similar situation would be really appreciated???
Tear it in half and send it back saying you refuse there offer and are prepared to take legal action to reclaim what has been unlawfully taken from you.
