Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
So, I sent of for my lists of charges and, after calling to complain about not recieving them and threatening to report Barclays to the information commissioner if I didn't recieve them on time, they've arrived. (albeit in a strange format that took a little bit more working out than a regular statement would)
I worked out how much I am owed- a grand total of £195!
which is not the huge sum I was hoping for but on the plus side I guess it shows i'm more careful than i'd thought I was with my bank account and hopefully (she says with fingers crossed) they won't put up too much of a fight against my small sum.
I've copied the repayment letter but I'm not really sure what the "schedule of charges" is?
I've searched for a template but can't seem to find one, could somebody please point me in the right direction?

You will probably be paid in full on your first request as it is such a nominal amount.
note, your spreadsheet will not include interest at this stage.
when entering the details into the spreadsheet, only enter the data into columns B,C & D, do not enter or delete anything in the other columns as these have formulae to calculate the 'interest' and 'days since' automatically.
save it to somewhere you will find easily, [my docs]
Send it to Barclays London Address - it doesn't really matter as they forward it to the relevant dept, but that is their reg address, so best stick with it.
It ca be found in the sticky post, email and contact details, at the top of the Barcalys thread.

I've just recieved a partial offer of £145 (out of my claim for £195)
They quoted all the usual- that they disagree with me, that the charges are fair etc etc
I'm thinking of taking it as I could do with the money (couldn't we all!)
But accepting the partial offer feels almost like i'm giving up the fight and i'm tempted to keep on demanding the full amount.
The next steps seem more and more serious and although i'm fully prepared to go through with them, can anyone tell me if it's really worth it for £50?
If it was £100+ then I would definately go for it, but is there a lot involved for the sake of £50?
Didn't really want months of chasing up for the extra £50 and really needed the £145 at the time!
Can't help feeling that I sold out a little but hey, some money is better than no money!
Can imagine how you feel, but by accepting their offer now instead of hanging out for £50 for god knows how long saves you from further debt then think you have made the right decision.
