I am in the process of reclaiming charges from Barclays and Barclaycard first letter sent 17/4/2007 no responce from either telephoned Barclays will be with me in 40 days (from 17 May) ringing Monday giving them 7 days or will inform Information Commissioner.
If your letter was a SAR they have 40 days from the date they received payment for it so you'll just have to wait I'm afraid. They legally have that time to comply.
When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.
Should you be offered help that requires payment please report it to site team.

Thanks for your responce, original SAR sent 14 April Barclays have stated they do not charge as it is handled under thier complaints procedure. I rang them on the 17 May and they said they had no record of it (theres a suprise) and would send it.
If they have cashed the payment you have proof that they received it. Personally I just use a certificate of posting which costs nothing, but I know a lot use recorded delivery too.

They haven't cashed the cheque and I have been told (by more than 1 employee) that they won't. Just spoken to them again this morning and been told my bank statements are on the way.
Sent an E-Mail to Head of Data Protection for Barclaycard advising them they have breached the 40 days as set out by law and "giving them ONE final chance to send me the information requested within 7 Days or I will take action through the Information Commissioner and the Office of Fair Trading and also seek to gain the information using the court system" long shot but thought worth a go anyone else tried anything similar?
