    Question Data Protection Requests

I am sure it was this website were someone, possibly a bank worker, stated that they had standing instructions to bin any Data Protection Requests which were not recorded delivery as it costs the bank quite a bit to process a DPR. Can any of the Bank workers verify this is true?

A First Direct employee would be ideal

    Hi Animal Magic,

I dont work for a bank but I do know someone that does ;-) .

She said that whenever she had been given letters which were not recorded delivered, yes some were, as you state " put in the bin", or " put way at the bottom of the pile and were not classed as important.

She also states that their is some mail which comes in from angry customers detailing money back or have just started the process of claiming, who`s mail have been talked about and in some cases crumpled up and thrown over the shoulder.

She does state that all mail sent should always be recorded. An no it doesnt cost them any more to open a letter that is not recorded. Takes at least 30 secs to read and pass to relevent tray. Pure lazy as far as I see it.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks Lujanairs,

I meant that it costs to process a DPR, not it costs to open a bit of mail

The bank i work for have guidelines for DPA letters, they are sent on to the DPA, either sent recorded, special delivery, snail mail or handed into the branch. We DO NOT bin them.

I came I saw I helped. I could do no more.

I work for Nationwideicon and SARicon's are treated urgently, they even have a team now to handle them (why they don't just payout is beyond me, must still be making more in charges than they're paying out).
