I'v been reading a number of the posts regarding claiming on Credit Cards. I had with RBS and I was defaulted and issued with a CCJ for this. Does this prevent me being able to claim on it? (I have never paid this off but they no longer contact me regarding this).
Card was opened when I was an 18 year old student and didn't know any better. If I was to claim:
a) how would I get the account number, I no longer have any correspondance re this?
b)would I be able to claim with an (unpaid) CCj on the card?

You don't need the account number - just provide them with your personal details.
With regards to the CCJ you should be able to claim the charges back - just be aware that it may be taken as a payment against the CCJ.

Even if they took it as payment that would be fantastic to have that debt cleared as although I'm not chased for it anymore I don't like the thought that I have unpaid debts out there.
Would you know what address I would contact regarding this?

sorry Fiesty chic for hijacking your thread, but this question is for Rory....I used to have a credit card with RBS, and paid it off, but I'm convinced that it's been closed for more than 5 years, can I still put in a claim for the charges I incurred on this old account?

Yes Lush you can, but you will need to use the Prescription and Limitation (Scotland) Act 1973 (as amended) 20 year rule to claim them back. You will need to do some reading in order to properly argue your claim.
