Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hey everyone! Got letter back and it mentions about the new ruling... does this mean it's over for previous charges?? They are threatening surprise surprise to go to court due to new ruling but I'm not sure?? The OFT hasn't mentioned about previous charges has it??
I'm not sure what you're getting at, but the penalty charges the banks have been charging are unlawful. There is nothing the OFT can do to change the law, so they are still unlawful no matter what the banks or the OFT say.

"Some people say The Stig chews on spark plugs and drifts while walking. Some say he is terrified of ducks, and that there is an airport in Russia named after him. All we know is that he is really barracad from The Consumer Action Group" - Jeremy Clarkson (allegedly)
The OFT has said £12 is lawful though.... so surely Lloyds could say all previous charges upto £12 are lawful but people probably could get the remainder or the charge refunded? If you know what i'm getting at?

Robert, the OFT has not said £12 was lawful, they have said that it was the level at which they themselves would take legal action. They further said that it did not mean that under £12 was necessarily lawful and that only a judge could decide what's lawful or not.
Finally, the OFT statement was about credit card charges only, and does not affect bank charges.
Apologies to people who I was in the process of helping, I may be gone some time.
Also abit off the subject but I order DPA and didn't get a copy of the memolines... was I entitled? or did the wording of the old DPA letter not actually say this.
Thanks
