Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Does anyone still get sky statements?
I used to get them up to about 18 months ago, and then realised whilst reading another thread that I had been charged for porn which I had not ordered (remembered it because it was Easter Sunday and that was not what we were doing!!) and did not realise until 1 month later because I stopped getting statements and had to ring them everytime they took the DD for a different amount...
Also when you order a film from Sky is there a particular length of time they have to put it on your account? For example, if your payment date is 1st of month and you order a film on the 10th when should it show up?
I rarely use any pay per view services but my OH has occasionally got a film off Box Office ( no filth, mind! ) I do get a statement then but otherwise no. Not sure about any rules relating to when they can charge you as not really my area
I just checked the website and apparently now I have to view my bill online...cheek of it!
And is the PIN number usually the last 4 digits on the back of the card?
(Does anyone else find that they stop checking on individual websites etc and just come here instead??????? Need to get off my ass more often!!!!)
:o
I think (and haven't been able to double check as not currently at home) that you can also access your statements via interactive button on your remote (sky active, customers services, view sky statement).
It's not that I have an issue checking my own statements...more to do with the fact that I am the sort of person who is better at dealing with things when there is a scrap of paper in front of me!
It seems that we are all paying more money out for services which are actually now putting the onus on us to make sure everything is ok! Wouldn't mind so much if the cost of these services were reducing with the new technology etc but they aren't...
Hiya, about 18 months ago sky sent a letter out to all the customers to day there were going paper free but if you still wanted to receive apeper bill when your monthly payment would differ then you needed to call up. If you want paper billing call them up 08702404040 and just asked to be sent out a bill every month , no extra cost,

By the way, how are they allowed to charge subscription and advertise?
They are a business.
Cinemas show adverts, but I still have to pay to watch the film.

But that's a one off fee each time you go to the cinema and not a subscription.
ITV are a business but they are not allowed to charge a subscription as they advertise.
