MR xxxxxx Sorry we have been advised by card services that they cannot action your request, please contact them direct if you wish to have anymore information.
Niether are signed by an employee so as per usuall when Lloyds are doing underhanded activity no one will admitt to it. or get clobbered for it.
There is no mention of a refund of the £10 postal order that they where sent?
This type of contact is just plain rude. Most necessary for a complaint to some one some where..
Im not pleased to say the least as i have a few issues with lloyds and I think they must have them in 1 big folder and are assessing 1 against the other.
This card is going to have some mighty charges on it and they know it.!
i have a small amount of statements proving the card was held in 2002 and in clusive of 2004, it may of been held up untill 2005 when alot of debits where cleared but I havent got the statements.
what should I claim for? and may be a letter to the Data Commisioner si that warrented.
Re: unable to find statements account closed to long? from 2003??
The problem with that is that some of that money would have been towards purchases you did make, wouldn't it... Even though they would have problems proving it if they say they can't retrieve the info, on balance of probability, a judge wouldn't accept that the totality of our credit card balance was solely due to charges, and you'd have a problem.
I take it you had an account number? I would write back to their DPA dept, saying that you do not accept that the info can not be retrieved, considering they should have kept records for a t least 6 yrs, and that of they don't get their fingers out, you're off to the IC (or words to that effect, lol).
Of all the stupid stalling tactics "we can't find it", has to be the worst.
Keep us posted.

Apologies to people who I was in the process of helping, I may be gone some time.
