Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I had written to barclaycard requesting my statements, i informed them quiet clearly that my intention was to claim back my late payment charges. Although my account was settled and pain in final in march 2005 they informed me that if i gave them personal details they would be able to access my account, i sent my letter which was a very nice letter asking for my statements ans included a postal order for the amount require £10.
This morning i recieved a letter stating that they were unable to trace my account and that if the account has been closed, which they know it has it is possible that they details could have been deleted and the information will not be unaviable. suprise!!!!!!!!
I have just spoken to a really nice man on the phone who works for barclaycard who informed me that these details have to be held for 6yrs and 1 day. He informed me that if needed they would be able to pull up my account details from the archives.
I sent the letter on the 16th may and recieved the response today 22 may, although quick to respond it isnt the respone i requested, my guess is they entered the minimum details and got no response and just sent everything back to me with a no there you go kinda response.
well i will be wrtiing to the managing director as informed by the lovely csa in barclaycard and i will be stating that they would be quick enough to find these details if they required payments from me. Any help would be very much appreciated.
I got a response from one of their gophers 3 hours later after they received my email.
hi there llindsay many thanks for your qoute dont suppose you have email details available for the dp you contacted do you, if you have could i have it
update on the barclaycard status emailed Barclaycard and they said bascially i have read your email and it has been passed on. The person who it was passed on to asked me to send the email again coz unable to download it, well why could the 1st line of contact read it, the reason i know this is because she said she is sorry that i have had to contact them again!!!!!!!!!!. Well after much persuassion to my solicitor who dealt with my finances aprrox 2 years ago she informed me that she could get the details of my card but it would cost me, she got me the number without any cost (a solictor who doesnt cost you the earth ha ha) I have resent my email with the fact that my solicitor had to intervene. Well here goes!!!!!!!!! might get somewhere with them 1 day. Can only hope and pray!!!!!!!!!
