Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have recently been successful in claiming nearly £6000 in bank charges from First Direct so I want to go after the credit cards now!! I had an Egg card which I paid off this time last year and I want to claim the charges from them. The only thing that I am concerend about is that I have a loan with Egg and I worried if I go after the credit card charges they will close my loan account..........can anyone tell me if they have had any experience with this at all??
Up until last November Egg used to aggressively discourage threaten claimants with counterclaims and CCJs. The latter is only possible if the claimant was in arrears on payments and so threatenable.
If they closed a loan acount in good standing it would achieve nothing, they cannot demand instant total repayment. Monthly payments will simply carry on at the same amount. In this new climate Egg may not close your account, but let those with firsthand experience speak. This is a small forum though, and the 45 past winners tend not to hang around for long after winning.
