Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I am at the preliminary letter stage in claiming back £1,334 from Natwest and they have until wednesday to reply before i send the lba. I just have one question, I sent the prelim letter to my branch by recorded delivery. I have been reading other posts on the forum and people have been sending letters to a central address. Should I send my LBA to that address or should I stick with sending it to my branch like the last letter? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appeciated
You should really be sending your prelims and lba's to the Borehamwood address, Mr. Higleys office, Customer Relations, but dont worry too much. So long as youve been sending letters by recorded, those little red slips will act as proof that youve sent what you say you have, when you say you have, and your local branch would just pass it through to Customer Relations anyway by internal mail, so dont worry. It will have reached its intended destination anyway, but in order to save a couple of days I would send the LBA to Customer Relations at Shenley Road, Borehamwood Address. By recorded of course, that way you know that the right dept. has received it, and in plenty of time for the next 14 day wait.
All the best. And remember, no response, file at court. You make the timetable, dont wait around for them to come back to you. All the best, just pop back whenever you need help or simply cheering on to the next stage. Theres plenty of us to spur you onward and upward my friend. All the best.

I would send the lba to Natwest Customer Relations
225 henley Road
Borehamwood

This is the team thats dealing with all charges. Your branch will have (should have!) sent the Prelim on to them.
Send it recorded and make sure you attach the spreadsheet with your schedule of charges.
Thanks fendy, i know its been said many times already but i really don't think i would have had the courage to take on the banks if it wasn't for the people in this forum- just wish I hadn't waited so long! Thanks so much for the help and guidance i've had so far just by reading your thread!
I will keep you all posted on the progress of my claim to help anyone else who is in the early stages like me.
Thats the spirit man. Head up high, onward and upward, and anything at all you need help with, just pop back and somebody is always on here to dish out very very valuable advice. You can do this, its easy really, but you do need to read up as much as you can on the FAQ's section to ensure your knowledge on the process is growing, along with your claim, Lolxxx. My best advice to you would be to read as much as you possibly can in the FAQs and the AZ section of claiming, and you wont go far wrong. And if you do, then just post on here and we can all help you put it right before court. All the very very very best. YOU CAN DO THIS, REMEMBER, YOU CAN. The spondoolies will be yours again. They will if you stick to time over tried and tested method on here. Much support and bestest of wishes to you. Fendy xxxx

Hi all, nothing new to report as such- but something strange has happened. All of a sudden i'm not registered for telephone banking anymore- i've been using it for 5+ years and suddenly today i've "been dropped" I spoke to someone and they weren't much help saying that they didnt know why it had happened? Didn't have time to labour the point but will call back later.
Could it all just be a coincidence? Has anyone else had this happen to them or heard of it?
If they close your account you can complain to FO about this too and perhaps look at compensation. They have on the odd occasion been closing peeps accounts, but as this also is unlawful, they shouldnt be doing it. So if they do, you can report them, and perhaps even sue them for compensation, but nice to know you have a parachute account elsewhere should the need arise. I would ring and re-register for telephone banking today. Dont let them off the hook. Do it asap. All the best............ Fendy xxxxx

Well surprise suprise, no reply from my prelim to Natwest. Have sent off my lba today but have just realised that I sent it by mistake to the freepost customer relations address in Borehamwood (by recorded delivery). Can anyone see a problem with this? I assume that it will still (eventually) get to the right place! Has anyone used this address before?
Don't worry - it'll still get there! I don't think anyone will sign for it if you've used the freepost address, but let's face it, they ignore us even when they do sign for our letters!
Received standard fob-off from Natwest saying it will take them 6-7 weeks to get back to me
My lba and this letter crossed paths so I doubt the LBA will have any effect. Now i'm not sure whether just to wait the 6-7 weeks or start the court claim I know that I will then be able to claim for interest, but if they are going to pay up the charges then is it worth it???
But at the end of the day, at least by filing a claim on MCOL when their 14 days stated in the LBA is up they know i will do what i said i was going to!
Mr L Plates.............. think this one has to be your call. They're asking those that they can be bothered to acknowlege to wait up to 8 weeks (i.e., please be patient with us whilst we make a ten minute jobbie drag on for 2 months!!)
Lots of peeps on here have waited the 8 weeks............. and some have been paid out at the end of it, but others haven't.
Personally, I'd say file N1 at court or do MCOL after the lba deadline - at least then you're the one dictating the timescales, and you can be pretty confident of a payout that way as well!!!
Hi all, just to let you know that for one reason or another I never filed a court claim. Today, 7 weeks after my inital claim and one lba letter, I received a letter for my full amount of £1,334 which I am over the moon about!
So for those of you who are wondering whether your money will ever come back stick with it!
