Default help with a cheque from bank

    he
I filed a claim on mcol on the 4th May and it has been acknowledged,
I recieved a letter from their solicitor a few days later saying they were going to defend, the next day I recieved a cheque for £987, saying it was the difference between the £12 which they now say is fair and the £35, and if I accept it they wont close my account. Which I dont care if they do.
    I am claiming for £2500
What should I do now ?
I dont want to accept it, but i dont want to lose it. With everything ive been reading im really unsure, should i cash it and say i accept it as a part payment or send it back

They have done this with most of us. We recieved the papers from Wragg & co. And recieved the cheque.

We just sent it back with a rejection letter. But it is a personal choice.

I would'nt cash the cheque just yet. There are letters of rejection in the Bank templates libraryicon for you to reply.

If its the standard letter with the cheque it says its Full and finalicon payment, then there is a hint of blackmail at accept it, drop case and we wont close the account.... my advise would be to send the cheque back to them with a rejection letter.
