    Default Gareth vs. Alliance

    Hi

After receiving a settlement offer from Lloydsicon TSB for £3000 I am now on it with Alliance & Leicester. I've got the statements (after 42 days!) and calculated £1427 in a year and a half over two accounts! I obviously manage money badly, but one month they took over £400!

Anyway, request for payment goes off tomorrow, so I'll be clock watching until the lbaicon and then on to MCOL.

Just started a thread to track progress.

    Cheers

    Gareth

    Hi

I've taken a while to update because the post office didn't deliver my request for payment, and it took me a while to realise.

Anyway, from the request for payment was a standard "fees are fair, can't refund them" type letter.

Off went lbaicon, and 14 days were up yesterday. In the post this morning, two letters - one for my account and one for the joint - offering final settlement at £242 and £550 respectively. They say this is the amount I would save if the penalty charges were reduced to £12 like credit cards now are.

As this is only half the amount I'm owed, I think I will continue to MCOL, but has anyone managed to accept this kind of thing as part payment?

    Thanks!!

    Gareth

I think the standard is reject and take relish in tearing up and posting back to them in pieces, it saves complications later.
