Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Reading with interest as usual the vareity of situations we all find ourselves in.
I have a bit of a weird one here, any advice would be warmly welcome;
Sent a SAR for OH on the 31st March 07, giving 40 days (10/05/07) to comply.
I'm just about to send a non-compliance letter off when, blow me we get two letters from Egg,
1st one thanking us for notifying of a recent change of address? (we have moved recently so i guess there could be some logic there) and the second one thanking us for the request of personal data held.
In the second letter they say, "before we process your request, we first need to see an item of identification, please forward one of the identification documents below and the appropriate fee." blah blah blah...
Now what really niggles me here is that both letters were sent out at the same time - 15th May (5 days after the deadline for the SAR).
and they are asking for identification for the SAR when they were happy to change all the account address details from the SAR letter we sent, would that not suggest that they were happy with our identification to carry out that change?
I really don't know what to do now, Non compliance? Identification? Do i have to start all over again with them?
A cheque was sent to them with the SAR, but having checked back, they
have not cashed it, where is it?
What do i do??
Hi Guy's it's very quiet out there,
any help with this or some sort of guidance will really help,
has anyone else been in a situation like this before?
what did you do?
please help me....
