Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Well, after reading all of the info on here for hours and hours, and gaining more confidence in the system from everyone on here - I have finally gone ahead and submitted my claim online. It seemed far too easy, so I hope I have done it right. I am claiming back £2091 including interest.
So now I join the rest of you and wait to see what the response will be.
Great site, it is so good to know that so many people are in the same situation as me - you always feel as though you are the only person dealing with extortionate bank charges, so reading these posts has really helped me.
On another note after listening to that silly woman on GMTV saying contact your bank if you cannot meet your financial obligations - I contacted A & L about 3 years ago as I realised I was going to go over my overdraft limit by about £40. I asked for a temporary increase in my o/d limit for 5 days until my pay went in as it did every month by BACS -I was declined and therefore charged £34 failed dd and then £25 the next month for being over my limit. What I don't get is if you haven't got the money in your account to meet your payments then how on earth do they think you can you play their awful charges. I gave up at that point with A & L, but sadly stayed with them. I have now opened up a new account with Natwest, so heres saying bye-bye to A & L.
Thanks for that younganfree, we are all in this together it would seem.
I have just checked MCOL and on the page where it says continue with an existing claim, there is a section that says Judgement and underneath that it says Start. When I click on the word Start there are two options to choose from - do I need to do anything with these at the moment?
