Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I've just started a claim and download the first template. I sent the first letter (Prelim) but in my rush a asked for the interest as well. It was only after i posted the letter i started to read everywhere NOT to do this. :o
The claim altogether including interest was under £1500 in total. Have i completely ruined my chances?
I'd just send a new prelim stating the correct amount, its fine to change the figures any time up to filing the court claim.

Defence received 20/07/06
Settled in full 01/09/06 wahey!!!!!!!!!
And remember to delete the 8% column when you attach your spreadsheet to the prelim again. You dont have to start at the beginning as such, just send new letter stating original one sent XXXX date, but that you are amending the claim to take off the interest put on in the first letter, and keep to the timetable you have already started for prelim and lba etc............... All the best. Fendy xxxx
