Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
If you are planning to issue against Barclays bank then once you have reached that point in time issue against your local branch. The reason i say this is that due to the way the internal post works. It may take a few weeks for barclays litigation department to actually pick up on your claim and you will be able to enter judgement without them actually defending.(by default). I have seen in many cases where this is the case you can also send the bailiffs in. As barclays is so busy dealing with the flood of claims they will not apply to have the judgement set aside. also if you issue on your local branch then when you need to send the bailiffs there is a greater chance of them actually visiting your local branch.
I would like to say yes to your theory but it is wrong. I have issued 3 separate claims against Barclays bank. one sent to churchill square and 2 sent via their local branches. The one sent to churchill square recieved a defence the other two were default judgements and the bailiffs collected from them !!!!!!!
