Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi All,
I got my claim settled by A&L after taking out the MCOL against them.Have done the same for my partner - but Wragge & Co (busy little bees that they are) have filed a defence - this was on the 25th April - as of this morning we have heard nothing else - no aq, no more from A&L nothing more from Wragge & Co & def nothing from the court...
Is it worth sending a 'nudge' letter to the sols? Or would you just wait to see what happens? is there a time limit after a defence is filed to when we might get a court date (not expecting to go to court mind - but the thought lurks at the back of my head!!)
What makes this even more annoying is that his claim is significantly lower than mine was with them!
Oh & they did send an offer - but it was less than a quarter of what he was claiming, so oddly enough it went back to them!!
personaly I'd contact the court to see what state of play is as they have final .Explain as much as you can to the court and see what they say.Good Luck
I agree I would contact the court.
My gut feel is they have sent you a defence but not sent the court one as they have no intention of defending the case.
If they send you their defence they hope you are scared into dropping your case
Hi,
we've had papers from the court today transferring to our local court & advising that the aq is not required - but no date for anything
So I think that I'll send the letter that is in the 'no AQ' thread to the sols & see where we go from there - what do you think?
