Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Been a member for a while now but only just getting stuck in. Great work to all those participating in this forum! Keep it up.
I have had to make a request for my bank statements (stage 1)for the past six years via the method described here on the forum. Halifax are proving to be playing it out to the last few days of their 40 but none the less seem to be moving. When it says "...manulal intervention..." I have assumed this means when the bank have taken money from me when they see fit.... Right?
In relation to my request for records of the afore mentioned "manual intervention", my letter received today from Halifax says "... HBOS plc is under no statutory obligation to record this information and therfore, I am unable to assist further with your request."
Does anyone know if this matters or can I just go through my statements high-lighting the charges when they appear...?
Many thanks to anyone kind enough to comment.

No, Manual Intervention actually means when anyone (human as opposed to an automated computer/system/process) has intervened with regards to your account. Examples of manual intervention:
Signing a letter (by hand, not a computer printed signature - although these can look very real)
If they don;t supply you with it then just move on, you have triede and asked the question and if it gets to court (doubtful) then the judge will assume there was none because they cannot provide the proof.
Hope this helps
