Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I received a letter from A&L on Friday with a cheque far below the amount I am claiming for (£88 when I am claiming back nearly £700).
I have already started a claim with moneyclaim and have had a letter from their solicitors saying that they are going to defend the claim - has anyone else had this?
Also, I want to send the cheque back to A&L and do not want to accept it as part payment. Can anyone help me and tell me which letter I should use? I have had a look and none of them seem to apply to me.
have a look at what i have posted and what advice other people have given me, im in the same boat as you, however i ripped up the cheque i received and sent it back with rejection letter, the reason i ripped it in half was i didnt want A&L putting it in my bank and then saying "well you sent it to us so we banked it for you and thats final"
They seem to be doing this to most people at the moment.
You seem to be on the same track as most of us. Once they have defended, you just need to wait now for the next letter from them.
