How do everyone?

Just thought I'd start a little thread here to document how this malarkey proceeds - maybe it'll help someone else's claim.

Sent the prelim letter on 17th April and received no response - so the Letter Before Action went today (9 May). The sum I am claiming is around two and a half thousand.

Judging from this forum and speaking to others there is quite a high success rate, but I get the impression that RBS may have started contesting claims in court - or maybe just playing a game of brinksmanship and settling at the last possible moment.

Anyhoo, I'll keep this little journal updated.

Cheers

Phil

Hi Phil,

Good luck with your claim, RBS took a while to settle my claim but they settled eventually, as they always do!

If you have any queries post them here and somebody should be able to help you.

  • 1 month later...

Well the RBS have sent me a letter saying that while the charges applied were not punitive and so perfectly legal, they are offering me a goodwill payment of £2600 - the entire sum I am claiming. Toyed with the idea of taking them to court anyway over the semantics, but that would just be daft.

Happy days!
