hi there,

i bought a used car 1998 model astra from the trader and the car brokedown within a week due to ecu fault. the cost of the fault is half the value of the car. i have given more than a month time to the trader to solve the problem by either repairing the car or replacing it or refund the amount. he hasn't solve the problem and suggests that he will repair it in his own time. it could take a month or two. he doesn't want to spend the money through approved repair centre which can be done within a week. the trader has signed the disclaimer note in his sale invoice regarding no warranty for any faults and parts of the car sold. he is relying on this. i have refer this matter to trading standards and they recommends that i am entitled for a refund due to breach of contract and selling faulty good. please advice and suggest the further actions that can be taken. he doesn't have a relaible car to be replace within the brokendown car value. i am keen for the refund now. thanks. alpine heights.
