Premier Direct Current Account hoder? Want to recommend me and get £25?
I hope this isn't an inappropriate thread as it isn't about bank charges, but I am about to switch accounts from Natwest to the Alliance + Leicester Premier Direct Current Account. As you may know they have a recommend a friend system where the existing customer and the new customer each get £25 when the new customer opens a Premier Direct Current Account.
See here for details. You (as the existing customer) need to have either a Premier Direct Current Account or a Premier Current Account.
We might as well get as much money from the banks as we can. Please PM me if you are interested.
Cheers, Fat May
[EDIT] Someone has recommended me. Cheers for the interest, all.
Re: Premier Direct Current Account hoder? Want to recommend me and get £25?
Aaaargh - don't do it. I understand your logic but they lure you with all sorts of promises of high interest, referral payments etc, but they will get their money back. And then when you claim it back they are likely to close your account.
My account is closed so I couldn't help you anyway, but please think carefully and maybe read some of the threads in the A&L forum before opening an account with them.
When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.

Re: Premier Direct Current Account hoder? Want to recommend me and get £25?
The thing is, most people in the A+L forum have bad things to say about A+L. I have a problem with the way Natwest have treated me and other people have a problem with their own bank. If you read all the posts in all the forums you'd never open an account with any of them.
Essentially they will all (generally) behave the same. I'm choosing A+L because of the recommendations of Martin Lewis and because of what the account offers me. I'm under no illusions that are a better or fairer bank - I just think the deal is better than I'm getting at the moment.
Plus in the initial letters I wrote to NatWest demanding my money back, I also threatened that I would close the account if they didn't refund the money within a certain time frame, which they haven't. So I feel I should move accounts. But this may also be stubborn pride talking...

I opened mine on the same recommendation and regretted it, but I take your point. I have just (reluctantly) opened one with Nat West, so let's hope we both have a better experience. I wonder if you have looked at Smile as I find them very good, although I am still claiming against them.
