Hello everyone, For some time now, I've been considering claiming back excessive charges from citi cards, but until I found this site, have been unsure, as to where to start.
I got into difficulties with them two years ago, and they proceded to herass me for over five months, with calls up to five times a day, mostly, with no message left. When I did actually speak to them I sometimes struggled to comprehend, what was being said, as their appeared to be a language problem between us. My wife went bankcrupt in may last year, with Citi as a small creditor, she has now been discharged, but still gets statements from citi cards, we just ignore them now.
Going back to myself, We moved house three years ago, and I received no statements for seven months, and then got a load together, they had added £700 in charges to a credit limit of £1500 ( I had a balance of £1200 when I moved ) I have been paying them back monthly, and owe £1080, at present.
My problem is I have no statements In my possession to work out how much extra, that I have been charged,
Can anyone advise me how to procede from scratch, to make my claim
Thanks, ( My appologies if this post is in the wrong thread, but please bare with me )
Hi Shaftsman,
Send the Subject access request letter to Citi preferably recorded delivery and enclose £10
Have a read of the step-by-step guide on the info pages, whilst your waiting for it to arrive, it will all become clear.
If there's a debt collecting agency involved I would send them a CCA let (in the 'debt forum'), to make sure everything's above board.
