    Default Extended Warranty

I bought a tumble drier about 2 1/2 years ago and bought the extended warranty, I've been having problems since October and FINALLY have got them to agree to replace it, but the warranty people (Allianz Cornhill) have said that following completeion of the claim all remaining cover will cease.

Surely it should continue to the new tumble drier, I paid for 5 years extended warranty.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't think that's right, no. If you have remaining time left on your extended warranty, that remaining portion should be tagged on at the end of your new machine's free 12 or 24 mths warranty. Either that, or demand a refund for the unused portion, the cheek of them.

Apologies to people who I was in the process of helping, I may be gone some time.

You don't say who is doing what.
Is the warranty company paying for the replacement or is the retailer. Check the terms as set out in your policy document. Does the cover ID the old machine? but if you entered into a contract for 5 years they must honour it. Would they be claiming the same if it had only been repaired, I doubt it The warranty would have to continue until the 5 years where up.
The advantageous to them that the replacement machine is brand new seems to have escaped them. If the new machine failed you wouldn't have to claim via your warranty as the retailer would be liable under "The Sale Of Goods Act" & being new it might well last the further 2 1/2 years without failure
