Hi to everyone- just new to this, but need some help with Bank charges
I have take my Bank Alliance and Leicester to the smalls claim court for £2495. Yesterday the bank wrote to me and actually sent a cheque for £408 and said that if I accept this cheque then they will keep my bank account open. However I have just had the fright of my life because I received a letter from the Banks solicitortoday saying that they are going to defend the claim and are prepared to go to court!!!!!. Is this normal procedure, please say it is, I feel I am maybe getting out of my depth, and feel quite scared! thanks

Good luck to you.
I just had Lloyds put in a defence to my MCOL. It does seem worrying to get to the court stage as like most people on here hve never dealt with a court in my life before, but I guess thats why they do do it - to try and get us to back off. As with you, going to be brave and stick with it.

I contacted Northampton Court today as received a letter this morning saying that my Judgement had been rejected and a defence had gone in.
When I asked they said that I would receive the paperwork shortly but if not call the court back in about 10 days. The lady I spoke to also said that many cases are now being deferred to another court (sorry cant remember exact title) court and some AQs not being sent out as the courts/judges are getting fed up with banks putting in a defence and then paying up before the court date - hence wasting court time.
So I am going to see what happens over the next week or two as can do no more till then.
Frustrating to be waiting again as Lloyds dragging their sorry ars*s on this one as they have with other cases I have been reading about but sticking with it. Good luck to you.
