Oh my God..I got my statements today!!

For those of you who don't know it has taken me (on and off) since November last year to get my full list of statements. After many a fob off letter and none responses they finally arrived today!

Right....next stage....I'm on a role - calculating charges. Which are applicable - I understand that I can't claim for pre-arranged charges i.e. Royalties but what about the following:

  • "Referral charge for October" - £20.00
  • "Card Misuse" - £20.00
  • "Charge to 14 Jun A/C xxxxxx" - £10.00
  • "Unpaid Items Chq / S/O" - £30.00

Are there any other abbreviations apart from CHG in my statements that I should look out for - any hidden charges they might have disguised as something else??

Finally if someone could send me a link to a good, simple excel charges calculator and tell me which letter I need to send with the breakdown of charges (presuming that this is the next stage) I would be eternally grateful!

Getting stronger....chins up those of you who are getting fobbed off - you will get there don't let them grind you down!!

Dan;-)

Sorry for the bombardment - one more thing....my account was opened in September 2000 - just over six years ago.

Should I go back that far or should I play it safe and stick with the six year threshold??

Cheers

Hi, it gets fun now :-) you`ll look forward to recieving letters hehe

You`re right about the pre-arranged fees, but you can claim for all those other `penelties` you mentioned. I dont think there are any other abbreviations you should look out for.

The next step you need to take is to print off the Prelim letter and a schedule of charges (no interest added as yet)

As for the 6 year rule, personally i wouldnt bother as your account hasnt been open long since, but thats just my two pence worth, its upto you.
