Hi all sent off my SAR to barclaycard in March and got statements last week and had £600 of charges to claim back so just sent off the lba and got an offer of £288 the difference between the oft ruling and what they charged. I intend to accept as part settlement and continue for the rest plus 8% interest. What i need to know is has anyone had their cards taken off them from Barclaycard when they have taken them to court?

Ive only heard of banks closing current accounts and not credit card accounts. That doesnt mean to say they wont start doing it though, even though its retaliatory and punitive.

well them nice people at barclaycard have reduced my credit limit less than a week after their gogw. so i now know if i take them to court they will do the same thing.Going to take them anyway as my debt will be reduced
hi hope someone can help but as barclaycard have reduced my credit limit after offering their gogw, what will i do as they have not even waited to see if i have accepted yet they have presumed i have.hope that makes sense.
Hi, I was reading your thread and just wanted to say i am going to claim some charges back from Barclaycard (not that they know that yet) But 1 week ago they reduced my credit limit which was quite handy really for me. So i think that it is something they are automatically doing at the moment to account that are perhaps not great. I have been paying mine off really well recently too so as much as i hate them i think it is a good thing? Good luck with your claim.
hi charlotte, what i was trying to say was when i send them a letter saying i accept as partial payment if they withdraw the offer i will be overdrawn by £275 and will get charged again. This is a catch 22 i think.I know there is a chance they will not take back the money but it seems to be the way they do it.
Hi Sowerby
I thought I would come on your thread so I can follow your progress here and give you help as you need it.
I must tell you Barclaycard on my Mastercard have reduced my limit a couple of times since I started claiming. But do you know what, am I bothered! the answer is no. They reduced my limit in total by £250 so now I have less to spend and less interest to pay each month. I am totally up to date with my payments and as soon as I receive my statement I am paying immediately. I think if they will reduce your limit it would not be by much and if they charge you you get straight on to the call centre and tell them that their is a claim in progress for claiming the unlawfull charges and that you want them refunded if not you will add them to your current claim. I do not think they will withdraw the offer
but you are right they could withdraw part of your limit, giving you no chance to spend it. When you get to the final stages and they are settling you can request a cheque you do not have to have it put into your acount.

Well today i have done a spreadsheet for cci at 27.9%.I have done it on the whole amount of the claim which now totals £984.74. So i am sending another lba with the spreadsheet listing the charges and also accepting the £288 in part settle ment only. i am sure i will have to take them to court but who cares they will pay up.
