Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have just recieved all my statement from barclaycard, in two years i have acquired £460 worth of charges, i have put these in a spreadsheet indicating the charge amount and the date, i see some people have included interest on the charges as well as the 8% (which i believe you do not request until you file a court claim). Would i be correct in these assumptions.
That's correct. You don't claim 8% till court. The other interest being claimed is contractual interest which you usually get instead of the 8% not on top of.
If the judge throws out the contractual interest you would still be able to claim the 8%.
There is a link somewhere re contractual interest but i don't have it to hand.
