I had an Egg card which I cancelled a couple of years ago, I want to claim back charges I paid within last 6 years- but how do I get a list of charges? I haven't got the Credit Card number anymore and I've moved address a couple of times since then? Is there a letter in the templates for this situ?!
Sorry, I'm sure this question's been answered before, but I looked through hundreds of threads and couldn't find it!!
Best thing to do might be to phone Egg and tell them you want the details of an account that you held that is now closed and give them the old address, etc. They may want some form of proof of id as you now life at a different address. It shouldn't be a problem getting the old account details as they need to keep records for at least six years anyway.
Click SEARCH button on the blue bar
click ADVANCED SEARCH
input keyword "CLOSED"
select "search thread title only"
---------------------------------
optionally select 1 forum only (Other institutions, Egg)
this gives you 1 thread.
Unclick Egg select, and you will find 97 threads, demonstrating that duplicatiion occurs on CAG on a vast scale, the same question asked thousands of times, answered thousands of times.
Thus use of CAG search engine is essential. CAG search engine does not seem to support -- e.g. a request to search "CLOSED AND EGG" performs a search on "CLOSED OR EGG". The ASKIT.COM red search button at top right corner does.
When you have found the closest match, perhaps post and PM. Winners have moved on to other things, and may not monitor postings after their wins.
Hi all, I have just received my summary of charges for an Egg account closed in 03.
I didnt have statements but did have acount number so sent them letter asking for summary of charges, with my £10 cheque.
Well it toook them the 40 days but i got them, all nicely showing £80 worth of charges and would you believe it my cheque for £10, i think they were just trying to get into my good books, fools should have took the money. It never stopped them before so i am about to start the ball rolling and think i will try compound interest on this one just to get into swing of it before i take HSBC for a large one 8-) all Pre 2001 with contractual/compound
Hope you get your details from them ok
Will be starting a new thread celicaman vs Egg so you can see progress
i didn't have any of my details and had moved, so i just wrote to them, they did require proof of id etc and took the full 40 days but i know have my stuff so don't worry
