Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I'm preparing to start fighting the good fight against Barclaycard, starting with a SAR letter and relevant fee to the Northampton address. I have one or two questions I'm hoping you folks can help me with before I get underway.
1. My address has changed and is different to the one Barclaycard hold for me. In the templates library, it says I should send proof of my change of address along with my SAR. What constitutes this proof? Will copies of bank statements or utility bills suffice?
2. My account is in dispute. Barclaycard closed my account three months after I opened it because it took exception to me paying off my balance in full every month (under the t&c's, you're not supposed to pay more then £100 off a new account monthly for a limited period). I have since refused to clear the balance and I'd imagine the account has since been sold to a DCA. Will this effect my claim? Can I expect a cheque from them since the account is inactive?
Thanks for you help.

I used a utility bill as I had the same situation.
From what I have read on here when you claim you charges back (which you can still do despite DCA) they may pay them back then give you any excess. Not sure they can do whilst in dispute though.
