    Hi all,

    Found the forums as a result of MoneySavingExpert.com, and boy what an eye opener!!

    I have been charged £34 4 times in the last 2 months for the same £19 direct debiticon + 2 other charges since the account opened in October. Total £204

    As an unusual first step I thought I would visit my branch and just ask for the money back, quoting from the threads I have read on the website, and it appears that the in-branch staff have already been fed the standard 'our charges are clearly listed in our t&cs...' response.

    I did point out that it would save a lot of hassle for both parties, and additional cost to A&L if I were to pursue this (court costs, interesticon etc.) and wouldn't it be easier just to credit me now as I would happily accept this as a compromise, but this failed to get a rise out of them. I just left it there and said I'll post the letter tomorrow....

    DPA Letter goes to Capital Oneicon tomorrow as well...

    Nice try, but I don't think they take it too seriously until you get to the moneyclaim stage, and then they still seem to try and wear you down.
